Intiate members need to find a full member who is willing to serve as Patron within the first two weeks. This Patron will be the new members first point of contact for questions and will teach the new member about the Order. The Patrons opinion will count heavily when considering the Initiate member for full membership. Application of the patron system is to the discretion of the guild-branch leader. Regular attendance of our major official events is required. If you can't attend a major event please inform us in advance. Character names must be appropriate, that means they must adhere to the games naming policy and may not be "leet" names or names taken from existing fiction like xxxIkillthehordexxxx, legolas, legolus, legolos, Superdude, etc. Members of this order are expected to deal with others in a respectful manner, moderate their own language use, be objective and in general promote a friendlier atmosphere on the community. Not just in game but on the many fora too. Loyalty to the Order. Acting against the Order will result in a ban. Professional discretion. We expect a member to be discrete about all guild matters. Thiefs and scammers will be kicked immediately. Grief players are not tolerated in any way. Killstealing, exploiting and other purposeful interfering with others enjoyment of a game will result in a ban. "1337 r0xx0r" dude type players are not welcome. Greedy players and loot whores are not tolerated in the Ancient Order. The guild does not refuse or accept new members based on level or gear. It is the player behind the character that is important. Members may not be removed based on playtime, level, gear etc. If need be they can be moved to a non-raiding or inactive rank. If the games guild interface system does not allow room for an inactive rank or if similair difficulties exist the guild-branch leader may remove an inactive character at his/her discretion. In certain games the guild will use a point system to devide loot. The philosophy of the Ancient Order does not support Power leveling (also known as leeching).*this rule may be re-evaluated for every new game the guild plays to accommodate that particular games rule set* Guild Branch rules A person can be officer or guildmaster in only one Guild Branch at a time. Each Guild Branch will be formed according to the same base template. For each new Guild Branch a new Guildmaster and officers will be chosen as leader of that Guild Branch. A guild master and the officers must stay true to the spirit and culture of The Ancient Order. For each Guild Branch a set of rules will be drawn up that deals with the specifics of that game. Rules for conduct in pvp for example. When an existing member joins a new game they must go through a short waiting period before recieving the rank that is apropriate for them (full, veteran, etc). Not one member will automaticly become officer when joining a new game. Even if they have been officer in previous games. Being an officer has to be earned for each game seperatly. A Guild Branch is never "full" for an existing member, if this has the potential to mess up raiding rosters the member can be given a non-raiding rank. Roleplaying Guidelines: these are guidelines, not rules. The Ancient Order is a RP-Lite guild, RP is not mandantory. It is preferred that initiate members adress higher ranked members in the appropriate manner, for example with "Sir", "Lady", "Mylord", "Mylady", "Master Dwarf" etc. A member of this order has the duty to fight side by side with his brothers and sisters and must be willing to die for them. The player is to show honour, as a Knight would. No matter if an evil or good character is role played, even dark knights have a code of honour. *The rule will be seperatly defined for every game the guild plays to accommodate that particular games rule set. It is for example imaginable that in the future we join a game where we form a Thieves Guild, honour among thieves is far different from honour through chivalry* If you roleplay an evil character please inform "victims" of your evil in advance that you are roleplaying to prevent unwarented claims of griefing. Every new member will have to go through a roleplay ceremony when being made a full member. The definition of powerleveling used by the Ancient Order: being in a group that fights monsters of a level higher than you can damage or exploiting encounter lock down mechanisms with the sole purpose of leeching experience points and gaining levels faster than intended by game mechanics. Players that do not know how to use their character to the fullest. They have spells and abilities that are a mystery to them and they fail to use any tactic whatsoever. Grouping with such players is hell. -power leveling gives you and the guild a bad name. If you power level someone or are power leveled you can be assured that your characters reputation on the server will suffer for it, the person assisting the powerleveling also has a great chance of loosing his or her credibilty within the server community. -Power leveling makes you miss the game A Power leveled character missed out on all the nice content. Most MMORPG's have no endgame to speak of, powerleveling just gets you faster to "Game over" The Rank System Tier Description Guild rank names Forum Rank names Forum access 1- Initiate Member The initiate member goes through a short probation period to see if Guild and person fit together. (free for GM of a Guild Branch to decide names) Rank automaticly attained when registering Name decided by post count, traveler, wayfarer etc. Can read and write in general, Game-related general and in the application forum. 1.5- The Honourary Member. (forum Only) For friends from different guilds amongst others. no guild rank Honourary Member Can read and write in general, Game-related general and in the members forum. 2- Full member A member who has passed the initial probation period Knight, master knight, etc. (free for GM of a Guild Branch to decide names) Full Member Can read and write in general, Game-related general and members forum. 3- Veteran member Veteran members are the long standing old timers of the guild. A veteran can not be removed from the guild without permission from the council to do so. The Guild Leader may not veto the council decision in these matters. This Tier also contains the council, a group of veterans who safegaurd the guilds culture and integrity. Principle knight, Knight of the round (free for GM of a Guild Branch to decide names) Veteran member. Veteran members may choose a custom title. Can read/write in general board, game related general forum, members forum, officer general forum and veteran forum. 4- Leadership and officers The leaders of a Guild Branch Grand Master, Grand Seneshall, Grand Knight, etc(free for GM of a Guild Branch to decide names) Any apropriate officer name, like guild master, officer etc. Can read/write in general board, game related general forum, members forum, officer general forum and the officer forum for the game they are officer in.
